Ashendra’s involvement with digital media began during his varsity days, and led him to study computer sciences (as well as acquiring an MBA) before joining Spectrum Visual Networks as a Software and Development Manager. As Lead Developer for the company’s digital cinema management and exhibition system, he oversaw the design and implementation of one of the first software-based, full HD video digital cinema playback systems within Ster Kinekor.

His achievements led to promotions, first to the post of Chief Technology Officer and then COO in 2010. His business experience enabled him to next work as a private management consultant, before becoming Manager of Awethu Ventures, in which role he was able to develop three substantial business cases from inception to approval.
In 2015, Ashendra moved to Maboneng Broadband as Chief Technology Officer where his key project responsibilities included and implementing the precinct network infrastructure, and managing ISP relations on an open network.
Returning to digital media – and bringing a wealth of business experience with him – Ashendra co-founded Primary Colours with Grant Neill in 2017.
